How to ensure the perpetuity of business in difficult times?

 

In an event promoted by the WTC BUSINESS CLUB, on March 16, better known as WTC Exchange, in which an exclusive group of executives, entrepreneurs and business managers participate, we had the opportunity, at the invitation of GRUPO RS Serviços “RS GROUP SERVICES], to present the first theme related to the scope of the event.

Based on the central theme, we began with core questions: What to expect from the business world in the twenty-first century? And what are the challenges for entrepreneurs, executives, CEOs and CFOs?

 

IT’S THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA IN BUSINESS

In a general context, there have been economic transformations, disintegration of markets with the disruption of supply chains as well as labor, geopolitical issues, diversity, ESG, workforce management, changes in global trade, economic integration, challenges with external events and increased protectionism.

However, in our presentation for the event, we focused on the theme of People Management.  We briefly went through the line of work, to discuss the central point: The gap between work and employability, Mindfulness + focus + efficiency – effectiveness + productivity.

  1. Physical problem – remote work from home – COVID 19
  2. Health problems – working from home
  3. Psychological problems – work/personal life/family life conflicts
  4. Burnout
  5. Multitask
  6. Big Resignation
  7. Mindfulness
  8. Productivity
  9. The Digital Nomads
  10. Ageism, a word that defines prejudice towards others based on age
  11. Upskilling – C-Level Reskilling
  12. ‘Quiet Quitting’ – which means working the minimum necessary
  13. The Great Resshuffle – a new take on work – connection between purpose and career
  14. Job Hopping – Generation Z phenomenon – changing jobs every three months

 

In the view of “GRUPO RS Serviços” [RS GROUP SERVICES] executives, the perpetuity of business passes through people, and, based on this premise, reception, politeness, sympathy, kindness and joy are values that are disseminated in customer service.

Therefore, from this first meeting, two propositions were discussed among the participants to ensure the perpetuity of business in difficult times:

1 – Rethinking the world of work – not where and when we work, but why do we work?

 2 – Customer service and respect – services that aim at service and exceed customer expectations.
